The team is in the East Division of the American League. The team was added to the league in 1998 as an expansion team, and currently plays its home games in Tropicana Field. Although the Devil Rays are one of baseball's youngest franchises, the Tampa Bay area has had a long history in professional baseball dating back to 1913. It was then that the Chicago Cubs moved their spring training site to the city of Tampa. St. Petersburg became a spring training host for the first time in 1922 when the Boston Braves came to town. Since that time, more major league spring training games have been played in St. Petersburg than any other city.

Fwicki - RSS Feed Management

Fwicki - RSS Feed Management

Sudden success has been surprise - San Bernardino County Sun

Tampa Bay Devil Rays third baseman Evan Longoria may have fallen a few games short of his ultimate goal of a World Series title, but the former Rio Hondo College standout was lauded for his efforts Monday with the 2008 American League Rookie of the ...

Sudden success has been surprise - Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

Tampa Bay Devil Rays third baseman Evan Longoria may have fallen a few games short of his ultimate goal of a World Series title, but the former Rio Hondo College standout was lauded for his efforts Monday with the 2008 American League Rookie of the ...

Trio of veteran Major Leaguers set to lead Mudcats next year

The Cincinnati Reds have named David Bell as manager, Chris Bosio as pitching coach, Ryan Jackson as hitting coach and Jimmy Mattocks as athletic trainer for the 2009 Carolina Mudcats.

Major Leaguer named COTR grand marshal

Christmas on the River chairman Kirk Brooker announced yesterday that Major League Baseball player Jason Smith will be the grand marshal for the 2008 Christmas on the River day parade.

Even Small Trades Can Have Big Impacts: A Review of 2007-08

First-Round Picks: 1.
