	132663 / 1978 Pontiac Trans Am SE All original from its Hurst T-tops down to its factory exhaust and white letter tires, this completely documented 16800 mile 1978 Trans Am Special Edition has been stored in a climate controlled facility all of its life and has all the right stuff you have been looking for. Assembled at GM's Norwood Ohio manufacturing facility in December of 1977, this pristine Special Edition Trans Am was delivered to Hansord Pontiac Company in Minneapolis Minnesota and purchased on January 10th 1978 by the same dedicated owner that would keep it for close to 33 years. Today, the car presents as practically brand new with a spectacular coat of original GM code 19 Starlight Black paint that covers 100% original body panels which are as solid and straight as the day they left the showroom floor. Under the hood you'll find this Trans Ams all original 6.6 liter W72 V8 which was the largest muscle car engine you could buy in 1978. Thanks to government mandated emissions standards, performance had almost been legislated out of existence, and that left the Trans Am suffering a bit of an identity crisis. By utilizing smaller "6X" heads from a 350 and a revised camshaft, the W72 created higher compression and successfully reversed almost a decade of declining horsepower numbers. Assembled at GM's Norwood Ohio manufacturing facility in July of 1978, this gold Trans Am was taken right up the road to Brown Motor Sales in Toledo Ohio and promptly sold to Pamela Kudelka who has owned it for almost 34 years. 	132712 / 1976 Pontiac Trans Am Fresh out of a first rate frame-off restoration where it was topped with a correct and highly desirable color combination, this numbers matching 1976 455 HO Trans Am is one of the last big block, 4-speed F-bodies ever built! According to the Pontiac Historical Services documentation included with this awesome big block Trans Am, it was assembled at GM's Norwood Ohio manufacturing facility in October of 1976 and delivered to Galen Boyer Motors of Independence, Missouri. In 2009, the car underwent a complete top-notch frame off restoration during which high quality quarter panels were seamlessly welded to mostly original sheet metal, and a slick new layer of correct GM code 78 Carousel Red basecoat was sealed under a glossy and durable clearcoat shell. Once the bright new paint was completely dry, a full set of gold decals was applied along with a great looking tri-color 'screaming chicken' hood piece and the car was buffed to an incredible shine. Under the hood you'll find this Trans Ams all original L75 big block V8 which, at 455 cubic inches was the largest muscle car engine you could buy in 1976. 	Pontiac Trans-Am WS6--Chris Moran Test Drive Video Review at Midwest Auto Collection 2012 A test drive in a professionally modified Trans-Am WS6 from Midwest Auto Collection. Hosted by Chris Moran. A musclecar, by definition, is a powerful and sporty vehicle that must be able to spin its tires at will. The Firebird Trans Am is capable of laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred feet long. We wanted to be sure it could, so we did it a half dozen times in the name of automotive science. For this test, we chose a 2000 Trans Am powered by a 5.7-liter (346 cubic inches, for you traditionalists) LS1 V-8 engine backed by a Borg-Warner six-speed manual transmission. It was fitted with the WS6 Ram Air performance package, consisting of functional front-end air dams leading to an underhood ram air system (a longtime Pontiac musclecar element), dual exhaust outlets, power steering cooler, Hurst shifter, P275/40ZR17 Goodyear F1 GS tires, and, new for 2000, 17x9.0-inch twisted-design polished-aluminum wheels. The WS6 mods boost horsepower and torque peaks to 320 and 345, respectively, up from the stock Trans Am's 305 and 320 figures. On the dragstrip, our Trans Am ripped 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and cleaned up the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 107.4 mph. (Funny how it beat the same-engined, similarly weighted Camaro SS by 0.2 second and 1.8 mph.) In handling, it mercilessly matches its Bow-Tie relative by pulling 0.84 g on the skidpad and zipping through the slalom at 64.6 mph.
