Media Player Integration For Customizable RSS Readers (Dynamic Data Portals):
As a leader in innovative RSS mashup and RSS management tools, fwicki now offers media player integration for its online feed readers.
The feed readers at fwicki are sometimes referred to as multimedia mashup portals, custom RSS media portals, or simply "fwickimedia Mashups". The fwicki portal pages are online RSS readers with unique customization and social features that set them apart from any web-based RSS reader or RSS manager tool.

It has been requested that we provide support and solutions for the community that includes the integration of embedded media players into our RSS readers (multimedia mashup portals). This request includes both audio (podcast - mp3) and video playback. These players are in the form of widgets that deliver the media content specified by the user. Members of the fwicki community have the option of including media players in their fwicki portal pages containing audio and video that complies with the fwicki terms of service. These features are now active and available through fwicki support.

The Audio Podcast Widget - MP3 - AAC - M4A Player:
The audio podcast widget is a compact flash player for the reader page. The audio player supports the following file formats:

More than one audio (MP3) player can appear on a fwicki custom data portal.

 

The Videocast Widget - High Definition (HD) Video Player:
The videocast widget is also a flash player for the reader page. This integrated solution provides high definition (HD) playback capabilities that support H.264 video encoding. Now fwicki users can create optimized multimedia portals that facilitate high definition video playback. The video player supports the following file formats:

• mp4
• mv4
• H.264 encoded mp4
• H.264 encoded mv4

The video player supports multiple video play lists. High quality H.264 video formats require more bandwidth & additional load time.

Eligibility:
There are two requirements in order to take advantage of the media player integration services for your custom fwicki mashup portal:
1. Qualified users must hold an optimized keyword username license and maintain a current Dev Pro account at fwicki. Keyword username license holders qualify for free initial set-up and support. Additional updates and support will be considered on an individual basis and certain fees may apply.
2. Setup fees apply for users who do not hold an optimized keyword username license at fwicki. Get more information here.
