Social Media: Twitter shifts from @replies to "mentions"
Tue, 31 Mar 2009 02:59:00 GMT
When you logged in to Twitter, were you excited to see who responded or retweeted your avitar? Was the first place you looked your DMs or your "@replies"? If you were "@reply" happy, you may have gotten a surprise today. The world of social media is moving faster than most can keep up with. Today Twitter announced a shift in the way we traditionally find out who's responded to our posts or referenced our avitar within a tweet. So, if you've traditionally looked for the "at replies" listed as @replies get used to the new term "mentions" as Twitter is shifting to "@" followed by your avitar or username. To learn more about the rationale read the Twitter blogpost: Replies Are Now Mentions.
